My Retirement Journey

Friday we had our Young at Heart breakfast at IHOP.  We had 8 people show.  Next month it's on the 9th. The weekend was low key.  Went to Costco on Saturday and Walmart today.  Also Kari and I went to Applebee's for lunch. I am getting Brady some birthday gifts and Regan grad gifts for next month.   Still waiting for the court to say that presidents can't be criminals; imunity.  What a clown show T has given.

OK, I decided I am tired of the cold.  Tuesday night was canceled... then bible study on Wednesday.  I haven't seen anything but I know it's been out there.  Today I didn't go to Young at Heart, and I probably missed a lot.  Irina canceled until next week.  So I got into my beading.  I started a few spiders and started to learn how to make a coffee cup.  First time the gauge was too hard.  Second one, I did my own thing.  I cut wire for tomorrow to make 5 coffee cups.  I am going to follow the lesson to the T.  I only get better by repeat making an item.  

For about 4 days now I have been at home due to really cold weather.  I practice taking it slow, but that's when I have choice.  I don't feel choice right now.  😕 That makes it strangely different.  I am making plans for when I am unstuck.

I went to school when typing was a class.  My dad was into women's liberalism when it came to me.  He did not want me taking a full semester of typing because he saw it as the way to become a secretary.  He wanted me to go to college. I decided to take typing during a summer class.  I did know in college I would need to type papers.   Thank goodness I did.  I not only could type my papers, but computers came into existence, which we couldn't see coming in the 1970s.  This is one time I did my own thing and didn't follow his beliefs.

Wednesday I went to Women's Bible Study and yesterday I went to Young at Heart.  I have been working on organizing my beads, which is a lot. We had snow flurries last night.  Friday should be very cold.  Not knowing how the snow will be, I didn't yet put in a grocery order.  

This weekend Kari's friend couldn't meet with her, so I went with her on some errands etc.  We went to a lady's house that was selling cuttings online.  They cost less than they would normally.  It reminded me of a drug deal or something.  We went to the house, took the cuttings out of a white box, and leave cash in the box.   We also went to Lowes for some home items, dropped off bags at the Goodwill, went to Wal-Mart, and checked out an antique shop in Auburn (not too impressed).  Also had lunch at Applebee's.  It was fun to get out together. Today it's stormy and windy outside.  The power went out for a little while.  They say there may be snow later this week.

Yesterday I met Renee in Sumner for breakfast and shopped.  I got this cool bag that turns into a tote at the Goodwill Blue. I also got a felt heart for Valentine's Day decoration, key, black Santa ornament, and journal for my purse.   It was a good day.
