Summer Time Out


I took my own advise and took some time out.  I wasn't here last week but it was a busy week.  Monday I went to the doctor to update my meds and got a pneumonia vacine.  They were excited to see I've almost lost 40 lbs.  We took Brady to the airport to go to CA, ate salad at Corner Bakery, and got Bundt cake on sale.  We also went to the Kent Nursery again but it was almost 100 degrees and I wasn't feeling that great (vacine).  

I stayed low most of the week.  Going places means spending money.  Then on Friday I reconnected with Renee in Sumner.  Renee use to work at GRC with me in Outreach.  I was in Outreach for 6 years promoting the college.  Before the pandemic I had lost connection, but we picked up where we left off.  We had breakfast and we shopped the in the downtown for 3 hours.  It was fun and I felt "back" since Sumner is one of my fun places to go.  We loved these signs with funny things on them.

Catching Up

Sunday was a really busy day.  I felt it was time to return to church in person and all 4 of us were there.  I introduced my family to my friends. Next was Costco to get Regan's cake for her grad party. At 2 pm we were at Tim and Angie's at the party.  It was great seeing everyone again.   Monday I got tires and an oil change for my car.  We also checked on the rebate we got in September.  I have to call the Refund Center tomorrow. Today I got the $189 rebate and off to Lowe's we went.  We bought things for the house and garden.  I plan to plant seeds tomorrow.

Celebrating Brady

Saturday evening the family met up at Magenta's house.  I met her lovely dog and cat.  Saw Darian, Savanna, Bella, Marcia, Kenny, Colleen, and Magenta.  We spent 2 hours talking.  The kids worked on a puzzle.  I had a birthday gift for Bella. Sunday was Brady's birthday celebration at Round 1 at the mall.  We left the boys there and Debra, Kari, and I went to Claim Jumpers for lunch.  It was sooooo good.  I had a Cobb Salad with chicken and a Diet Coke.  Debra shared Spinach Dip and a plate of roast Brussel Sprouts.  Yum. Debra is quiting her job because Don now will be working a job for $7,000 a week.  Oh my goodness! Riley tried food in the food court from the Hamburger Shack plus others.  He praised and praised the food he ate.  He's such a foodie now.  And cooks well himself. Good day

Autumn

Didn't post yesterday but I was going to mention how beautiful this time of year is.  September with summer slipping away and long shadows, October is brilliant with color, and November is subtle and subdued with coziness.  As the wind or rain chases out the last of the leaves, one can see winter coming in.  I am grateful for this time of year and enjoy each moment.
